Thursday 25th November – walks **** – Around Felixstowe – sunny but cold.

Walk 1 – Sunrise, The Dip to Felixstowe Ferry.

Mag wanted to go to Lidl early to see if the ski coat she wanted was in so we decided to get up early and go for a sunrise walk. We took the van and arrived at The Dip just past 7 perfect for the 7.30 sun up, sadly there was a big bank of cloud out to sea so it was a disappointing sunshine as always it is lovely to be out on a crisp cold morning. We were sheltered from the NW breeze by the beach huts but when we reached the open golf course things cooled off very quickly, we were well wrapped up so were fine:) With the tide quite low a lot of the shingle bar was out which was covered in gulls, on looking closer we spotted a seal resting too, always great to see one! There was a hint of colour in the sky now as we walked around The Ferry boatyard but we have defiantly seen it better so we did not stay long and set off back. We bumped into an old friend walking her dog and had a quick chat as the sun was breaking above the clouds really improving the day and I got some nice pics of the beach huts with a clear blue sky:) Then onto to Lidl, sadly the ski coat had not arrived but Mag stocked up with storm Arwen set to arrive over the weekend with strong winds but continuing to be very cold. So, a great walk then home for some yummy warming porridge before doing my exercises while Mag even managed to cut the grass.

Walk 2 – Felixstowe prom stroll.

After some more homemade yummy soup we decided to have a quick stroll along the prom at the end of our road. With the wind offshore it was pleasant walk, then back through the Spa gardens hoping to see the Jays feeding on nuts in the Holm Oaks. Again, we were lucky and saw 2/3 Jays, plus squirrel, magpies and pigeons and stayed for ages watching before walking through the town to visit the library and home for a warming cuppa. It was very cold especially with the wind in the north, I defiantly don’t like the cold, could be a long winter:(
